5 Things to Remember Before the Big Day

It’s the days leading up to the wedding… do you have everything you need? I listed 5 things that you need to remember to do or have before it’s time to marry your one and only.

  • Marriage License – This is the most important because well… you can’t get married unless you have a license. You can search for a Marriage License issuer here but don’t get it too early. The marriage license is only valid for 3 months from date of issue.
  • Pre-wedding day grooming – You gotta look great on the most important day of your lives (so far). Get your spa treatments over with, guys get a haircut but a week or two before the wedding isn’t the time to start experimenting with new treatments. You do NOT want to show up with a crazy new haircut or an unwanted allergic reaction from a facial treatment (or something like that). Stick to what you’ve been doing and go to your trusted estheticians.
  • Pack your bags – Don’t leave this until the night before. Organize and pack up everything like your wedding decorations and an overnight bag, if you’re staying at a hotel for the night. Don’t forget the emergency kit too! The earlier you pack the less likely you’ll forget something. Besides, do you really want to spend your last night as a single girl packing bags? If I were you, I’d rather be hanging out with friends/family with wine in hand.
  • Write your vows – This is another thing that you shouldn’t rush. You’d think it would be easy but I actually spent lots of time mulling over my vows… and so have other friends. Set aside some time a few weeks before and write… then revisit closer to the date if you need to. Check out my previous blog post on writing vows.
  • Breathe – Everything has been planned, confirmed, and all that’s left is to wait until the next morning… the wedding day. It’s out of your hands now… you could have the most perfect day or you might run into a few obstacles. Remember to breathe and don’t stress because that doesn’t solve anything. Know that your wedding coordinator, friends and family are there to back you up 100%. If things don’t go exactly as you planned, remember that the most important thing is that you marry the love of your life. Everything else is just details.
