Pyrenees-y listening ‘Spanish Woodstock’ Dr Music Festival is back after a seventeen-year hiatus

But even the notoriously grumpy rocker managed to crack a grin after his set at the Doctor Music Festival.
So perhaps Lou, long since departed to the great gig in the sky, will be beaming down from heaven now the “Spanish Woodstock” is returning after 17 years.

It’s great news for those who fancy combining a trip to red-hot Barcelona before cooling off in the pretty Pyrenees, where this festival has lured rock royalty.
In a valley not far from Andorra, music lovers can enjoy top bands spread across five stages in July 2019.
The 140-hectare Vall d’Àneu site has plenty of room for tents, or you can use the empty chalets in the neighbouring valley, which has the biggest ski resort in Spain.

With the festival reboot 18 months away, the line-up has not yet been announced.
But attending the London launch were representatives of artists including The Black Keys, Blur, Bob Dylan, ­Florence + The Machine, Muse, New Order, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robbie Williams and The Rolling Stones.
The inaugural 1996 line-up hit the jackpot with David Bowie opening the first night.
Bowie was followed by Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and Blur the next day, with Patti Smith and Massive Attack closing the festival.
