Contemporary Meets Tradition – Asian Wedding Ideas

Today’s post is a fabulous mix of styles inspired by Asian Wedding ideas. Whether you’re tying the knot in an exotic location or in an abandoned urban warehouse, it’s the details and colours that really bring this style alive.

I’ve focused on mainly bright colours mixed with luxurious gold accents. The combination of colour-popping shades and metallic details creates a wedding colour palette that is the epitome of a lavish celebration. Golden lanterns hanging from the ceiling on your venues will immediately create a stylish setting for your big day – no matter what your venue may be. Smaller gilded lanterns filled with tea lights dotted along banquet tables will build a warm ambience and they’ll look very romantic. Alternatively, why not not fill your lanterns with bright and colourful blooms? Flowers are very clever in the sense that they can effortlessly add colour to your wedding venue, and sometimes they may be the only wedding décor you need!

Moving onto a few traditions: have you seen our Lucky Elephant range? Our Lucky Elephant Tea Light Holders are a lovely addition, particularly where elephants are considered good luck in a number of cultures. They could be used in every place setting, or even in the middle of your tables as centrepieces. Our Lucky Golden Elephant Place Card Holders are another beautiful way of bringing good luck to your special day. Not only do they work wonderfully for place settings, they can double up as good luck wedding favours for your guests. Your guests will be able to take a souvenir of your wedding home with them.

Your wedding cake can easily be the focal point of your reception; the bolder the better. An abundance of golden icing with jewel tone icing will create a masterpiece – it may be too good to eat! I love the thought of keeping the Lucky Elephant tradition going by adding a golden Elephant cake topper. Consider presenting your wedding cake on a gold cake stand for the ultimate cake display! Cake pops are often overlooked in exchange for canapés, but I think they’re a delicious choice for the evening. Each cake pop would look wonderful in rich pink, emerald green or lavish purple and decorated with gold detailing.

Saris are very much a traditional Indian wedding style, and they’re a beautiful alternative to a gown. If you really want to channel a ‘contemporary meets traditional’ vibe, why not change into a white wedding gown after the ceremony? Keep the gold theme going by donning beautiful golden jewellery as part of your bridal look.
