My Winter Essentials

Happy new year fam! It's been too long, but I'm happy to be back healthier and happier. Being in January now, the heart of winter here in Canada, there are a few things I need to keep myself comfortable and fresh during this harsh season.

The Face Shop Sheet Masks

With the cold weather comes dull, dry skin, so I try to do a mask every 7 to 10 days. I love this style of mask because it's affordable, effortless and so easy and light to travel with. My personal favourite is the Real Nature Mask Sheet line from The Face Shop. Alternatively, It's Skin also has a line of sheet masks at the same price point. They come in a variety of different essences such as lemon, green tea and rose, and they don't irritate my sensitive skin.

J.R. Watkins Lavender Hand Cream

This J.R. Watkins hand cream has quickly become one of my favourite products. Because of it's thick texture, it's perfect for providing your hands with deep moisture during the winter months. I use it every night before I go to sleep so I can wake up with nice, soft hands in the morning!

Blistex Lip Balm

I have a lot of different lip balms, but Blistex Lip Protectant is the only one that does the trick when my lips feel tight and start to peel at certian times during the colder months. Great that it has SPF as well to protect your lips from the strong UV rays that bounce off the snow during this time of year.

Comfy Sweat Top

Found this sweater at Ardene and it's become one of my favourites! I love the cheeky "I don't believe in humans" text on it and it's just super soft and comfortable. Exactly what I need for a casual day out or if I'm just crashing at home.

Tea, tea and more tea!

I love tea and drink it year round, but I especially love my tea during the colder months. I don't have a specific favourite. I usually like a black or green tea in the morning to give me a bit of a kick and then I love herbal teas in the evening. Lemon, chamomile, ginger, mint, you name it! Right now I'm loving Tension Tamer by Celestial Seasonings which is a blend of eleuthero, ginger, lemongrass and peppermint.

Self-Heating Hand Warmers

This is kind of random, but something that has proved to be really helpful for me this winter. I have Reynaud's syndrome which causes my hands to be really sensitive to cold and freeze up and lose circulation. I discovered these little disposable hand warmers and now always keep a couple in my purse.
