The Best Dog Ever

If you follow me on social media, then you likely know that this past weekend my family and I lost our beloved dog Kayzin who has been in my life for 16 years. Though I knew his time on Earth was coming to an end since this summer when old age caught up with him and his health began to decline, the loss is still very painful. Kayzin came into my life when I was barely 10 years old and I am so fortunate to have had him by my side throughout my pre-teens, teens and into adulthood. At the age of 18, he lived an incredibly long, happy and healthy life and brought smiles to so many. I am grateful that he passed peacefully with us by his side. To celebrate his life, I wanted to share some of my favourite photos of him with you all.

One of my very favourite shots. This was back in 2009, when we brought home our pet rabbit Ash. Ash passed away a couple years ago and her and Kayzin were so close! They are buried next to each other.

Kayzin absolutely LOVED water. This shot is from a few years back when we took a family trip to a cottage by a beautiful lake. It was so hard to get Kayzin out of that lake! He spent every moment he could swimming and having the time of his life. He was truly a country dog!

Kayzin in his younger years smiling proudly next to his giant stick! He loved to collect huge sticks when he went on walks. He would find one and walk with it the entire time and even bring it back home. So we always ended up with a bunch of sticks in our backyard.

Lastly, had to include a family shot. That's a 13 year old me on the left with my little sister, mom, dad and of course Kayzin smiling below. We were up north during the summer taking a walk. Kayzin was always happiest when he was out in nature with his loved ones.

Goodbye, to the absolute best dog ever.
