I don't think we should call it ghosting
Ghosts want you to know they are there
Mortals who fear confrontation
Are eager to just disappear

A spirit puts in lots of effort
To knock once for yes, twice for no
Summoning strength to move objects
Or manifest with a dim glow

"Ghosting", in contrast, is lazy
It's easy to cease to exist
Harder to make yourself present
To tell someone they are dismissed
