Do you have a VSCO account?

I took this random Shot in a coffee shop somewhere in Makati while waiting for my coffee to be served. And I was like “I’m gonna blog this”.

I am not a professional photographer. I have a DSLR, but I am no expert in using it. I only have my phone with me everyday and no matter how “chaka” my shots are, I still take random photos anyway. I keep them, edit them, and use them for my blog. Or maybe just post them on VSCO.

Many are asking what is my post process for all my travel photos. I say none other than adjusting the brightness, contrast, and shadows. I hate losing the natural colors of the object I photograph. But sometimes, filters are also pretty.

I won’t ask you to follow me there, but my VSCO account is where I dump all my random shots on my travels, my arts, and my everyday life. So I’m asking you to at least visit it sometimes.

I am posting not just to promote my Account, but because of one shallow reason I randomly saw on social media.

This photo was taken at Puerto Galera when we did our outreach for the Mangyan kids. My boyfriend and the others are having a quick breakfast while I was just lying on the beach chair below these coconut trees. I was soooo bored I took photos of the trees, the beach, the dog, and everything except the people (lol why didn’t I take photos of those wonderful people???) On the post process, I adjusted the brightness of the photo (I sometimes do it on Snapseed) then added filter (G3 on this one) plus tint.

I used a darker tone of P5 for this one. I took it when I was bored studying Internal Audit theories for the nth time.

Uhmm.. And so???

My shots are random. Sometimes, I try sooo hard to follow the photography rules. But I suck at following rules. So I just take snaps.

It’s good to hear people say I take good shots. And it’s good to hear critiques as well. What matters most to me is that the photos I share are getting noticed by people and they are feeding their minds about my shots, whether it’s admiration or criticism.

I would just like to share and make you think or remember that you don’t have to be the best in something. You don’t need a big platform to make yourself confident that you’re a good job. Some people will say hurtful things about your work, that it’s not good enough to publish or whatever. Don’t mind them. Mind your right to share your growth and prove them you can do better.

So maybe yea. Some people think VSCO is a lowkey site supporting random meaningless shots, but I am thankful they’re letting me have a free account where I can share what I love doing.
