1. Isabel Marant Etoile Malibu Hoodie, $300
The tee shirts and sweatshirts from Isabel Marant’s Etoile line manage to sit right on the line between laid back and luxe. Also, this claret red is something of a calling card for the line. I don’t know anyone else who does this exact color. The overall effect is highbrow beach bum, which suits this California girl just fine.

Speaking of “highbrow beach bum” … this new kit from Space NK includes travel sizes of three of the most talked about beach-hair texturizers on the market. 3. Steven Alan Landon Flap Saddle Bag, $138.00 (was $295.00)
This pebbled leather saddle bag can be worn over the shoulder or crossbody, and it has lots of organizational options including a flap pocket, exterior slip pocket, and interior zip pocket. It’s available in four colors, including black, and it’s on sale.

4. COS Slip-On Sneakers, $88.00 (was $125.00)
These minimalist leather sneakers have an ugly-chic vibe that will up the style quotient of summer basics. I love this sand shade, but they’re also available in white and navy.

5. Theory Silk Twill Pull-On Trouser, $355.00
Silk trousers are the perfect antidote to yet another dress for a summer night out. Bonus points for the pull-on style, which is sure to be as comfy as pajamas.
