Scent of Hope

“Mamma is Santa visiting us this year?” asked little Rosy.

“Maybe”, answered her mother while she was busy sewing the red cloth.

All this while Rosy sat there dreaming about the ‘man in red’ who visited every child in the world except her, the reindeers who could light up her home, only if they paid her a short visit, about the gifts that she had so longed for since he left a void in their lives.

Today she would force herself to stay awake and get hold of him while he visited the neighbours next door, she thought but eventually fell asleep, and in the morning as she got out of her bed, she realized she had missed him again.

Sulking she looked around in despair when something caught her attention – ‘he had actually visited her for he left her candies, toys, and a special toy that looked like him and not to forget the Santa bag to preserve these treasures.’
