Magellan has announced a new Rugged GPS navigational device that is IPX-4 splash-proof (not fully waterproof). The Magellan Crossovergps [product page] is made for outdoor enthusiasts, stocked with MapSend Topo topographic maps, MapSend BlueNav marine charts, and/or MapSend Lakes charts via digital memory card. The 3.4" x 4.3" x 1.1" (8.5 oz) device features a 3.5" touch-screen display, voice and visual guidance, and up to 8 hours battery life. When in the city, the CrossoverGPS utilizes SmartDetour traffic routing, SayWhere text-to-speech software, and a TrafficKit accessory for real-time incident reports.
