France opposes the Death Penalty former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, but also against the death penalty anywhere else.

The statement was made deputy spokesman Romain Nadal French Foreign Ministry.

On Thursday, Egypt's prosecutor general's office demanded the death penalty by hanging for the ex-president Mubarak, a former Interior Minister Habib al-Adli and six of his deputies.

"France has always opposed the death penalty, regardless of the place and circumstances. This is the priority of human rights, we advocate its abolition everywhere, and Egypt is no exception," - said Nadal, answering a question at the request Attorney General of Egypt.

Mubarak and Egypt's Ministry of Interior of the former government are accused of involvement in the shooting of peaceful demonstrators during the popular uprising in early 2011.

The defendants did not admit his guilt. Their lawyers argued that police officers have been given clear instructions not to use weapons against the protesters. Moreover, the MVD, which provided security during the demonstrations were not armed with firearms.

According to lawyers clash in Cairo, which erupted after the resignation of Mubarak, are identical with the nature of the clashes that took place during the January Uprising, and the evidence linking him to the third force, both within Egypt and beyond. The trial will continue Mubarak on January 9-10, when there will be presentations by advocates of the injured party - relatives of those killed in clashes with police.
