Christmas Hook-Ups, Follies and Booty-Calls: DrO Speaks

Christmas can be a lonely time. Don’t be tempted too fall to quickly in love.  Also, don’t hook back-up with that old lover or ex-husband/wife for a quickie. This can be very dangerous. Opening-up old wounds during this period can lead to a life-time of depression. Sometimes  a silent night is better than doing something that may have lasting emotional effects.

Please remember that the holidays last for only about 45 days. You will get through this period. Many people simply desire to just wake-up Christmas morning, under that mistletoe, at any cost. However, is it really worth it? The holidays are usually driven by emotion for many. However, honestly most of the emotions are only  transient. Yes, you may feel a little lonely on-and off during November and December, but there is usually light at the end of the tunnel-January.  So watch your spending, hook-ups and matters of heart.

Santa Claus usually comes to town but he doesn’t stay. Don’t be a booty-call this year. Last year you were vulnerable and you didn’t know about this pitfall. Sex, cuddling and cupping have became mainstays in the winter culture of many. However, what if he or she leaves you in the Spring. Then here come sadness and depression. Be sure that what you are feeling is the same as what he/she is feeling. Don’t be afraid to ask. Be open and honest. This is and always has been the best policy.

Points to Ponder:

  • Be careful starting something new during the holidays
  • Be open, honest and ask questions
  • Don’t leave cookies out for Santa Claus
  • Don’t leave your drink unattended during this season (both males and females)
  • Drummer boys sometimes have more than one set of sticks
  • January is coming
  • Ask if he/she is married
  • Conversation over the phone is always good
  • Dinner outside of your home is good
  • Your bedroom can be closed for repairs indefinitely

Merry “safe” Christmas,

DrO
