Galentine’s Day Guide

Not everyone is a fan of Valentine’s Day, especially if you’re single or fresh from a breakup. Galentine’s Day is really about spending the day with your friends or even just enjoying your day by spoiling yourself. Admittedly, my husband and I don’t go crazy over Valentine’s Day gifts and usually just stick to a nice dinner at home together. I do enjoy the decor of pastel pinks and purples, bright reds, and hearts everywhere. I’ve curated a few of my favorite items lately into one look and I added some beautiful gift ideas for your gal friends or even just for yourself at the end of the post.

I just recently purchased one of the new NYX Powder Puff Lippie’s and the formula is really unique. I was skeptical at first because typically powder and lipstick does not go together, but it’s actually a nice long-lasting lip product. I am wearing the shade “Moody” here and it applies like a satin cream at first, which then dries down to a powder-like finish. This gives the look of no harsh lip lines and a bit of a blurred, natural effect. I have been wearing this all day, through cups of coffee, water, and two meals, and you can still see the stain of color on my lips. It does transfer slightly, but I find it to be extremely comfortable to wear.

I feel like I am incessantly searching for the perfect Brow pencil. I want something that puts down good color, isn’t too warm or too cool toned, and lasts throughout the day. I also don’t want the price to be skyrocket high because I go through brow pencils quickly. I finally found my holy grail and it’s the new Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brown. I paid $7.99 for this brow pencil and one end is a chisel-angle, while the other is a spoolie for brushing through your brows. I’ve fallen in love with the fact that it lasts all day and is super affordable. The angled tip makes it really easy to shape your brows perfectly too.

As for skin, I can’t stop using my Iconic London Illuminator in Original. I’d been wanting this product for a long time and now that I’ve had it for a few weeks, I haven’t gone a day without using it. I love mixing it with my foundation for an allover glow. I love dotting it on my cheekbones, forehead, brow bones, cupid’s bow, and along the bridge of my nose. Since it’s a liquid formula, you can use your fingers to pat the product in and make it look like a second skin.

Last, but certainly not least, this off-the-shoulder sweater. It is so comfy and soft! I love off-the-shoulder sweaters and practically live in them all winter long. This one is from livluvshop and as an added bonus, happens to be perfect to wear on February 14th.

Whether you’ll be spending Galentine’s Day with your friends or at-home, here are my top picks of accessories and fashion for the day (that blanket is everything!):
