The tray will swing out for the child to be placed inside. This is so much easier than having to use both hands to snap off put aside, then buckling baby inside, and then finally locking the tray back in. It's no fuss with Joovy! Just swing out with one hand and once baby is inside swing it back! The picture above shows me removing the top part of the tray to wash.
