My favorite part about Fashion week is getting to see the fashion shows. I still pinch myself that I get to be so lucky! My second fave part though, is the street style. Fashionistas always bring their A-game to fashion week and it’s so fun to see what everyone wears.

When it comes to my own New York fashion week outfits, I generally stick to my usual polished, sophisticated style. But I try to make it a little extra, whether it’s with a bold color or a new beauty trend. Since the Trends I lean towards are more classic, it’s not surprising that you see them come back season after season. Here are three trends from last fashion week that are still going strong this fall:

black and white lace

Lace has always been one of my favorite fabrics. It’s so incredibly feminine and it doesn’t wrinkle (perfect for travel!). Last year, I wore black and white lace dresses and the trend is still going strong this season. To edge up the look a bit, I like to contrast lace with booties and belts with bold hardware. 

dark florals

Florals haven’t been reserved for spring for a while now. Dark florals are blooming again this season. Last year, I did a floral maxi dress that I wore just a month later at my cousin’s wedding. It also carried me into winter layered with a sweater and jacket.

jewel tones

I talk about jewel tones a lot on the blog. I just love the richness of emerald, sapphire, ruby and amethyst. Last year, I wore this silky set despite the heatwave in NY. If you’re more of a jumpsuit girl, I found a similar look that I just styled last week from summer into holiday season.
