How To Mix and Match for Day to Night Travel Outfits

Whenever I’m traveling I look for pieces that you can easily mix and match. It saves on packing space and you can simply use accessories to bring your looks from day to night. Today I teamed up with Carlisle to show four outfit ideas using four pieces: a updated tee, a white linen skirt, an off-the-shoulder top and Sailor Pants.

What I love about Carlisle is they have such well-made classic pieces that you can wear them year after year. I went with black and white because it never goes out of style and sticking to one color palette makes packing a breeze. We shot these looks around Venice, California but wearing the resort outfits made me crave a trip to Venice, Italy and the Amalfi Coast!

Look #1: Breezy Summer Whites

There is nothing I love to wear more in summer than all-white. Carlisle’s white linen skirt is incredibly flattering for all body types with its A-line shape. And any skirt that has pockets gets an A in my style book! I paired it with an update on the classic white tee. But you can also easily wear it as a coverup over a bathing suit with a hat and sandals. A pom-pom bag brought a trendy touch to the timeless outfit.

Look #2: Romantic Nights

I transitioned the skirt into night with a knit top. To show off the romantic pleating, I simply pulled my hair to one side and added a statement earring. I wanted a pop of color so I slipped into orange sandals, but you could easily do a neutral shoe as well.

Look #3: Comfy Resort Chic

Sailor pants are one of my favorite pieces to bring on vacation. They have a nautical vibe and the wider leg allows you to wear comfy wedges underneath. I converted the black top into an off-the-shoulder style and this time used my earrings for a colorful touch. I could have re-used my clutch but instead made the look more on trend with a bucket bag.

Look #4: California Casual

Since the sailor pants have a higher waist, they allow you to wear a crop top. So I knotted my Carlisle tee to mimic the detailing at the neckline.  An all-white outfit allows you to play with any accessories, so you can style it with jewelry you pick up during your travels. I actually got this tassel necklace during my trip to Aruba!

I hope these styling ideas help you as you’re planning your next getaway!
