Courtesy of Breaking Glass Pictures, today's Groovy Giveaway is two DVDs of Kanarie, the award-winning, earnestly warm, occasionally heart-wrenching, masterful musical comedy from director Christiaan Olwagen.

Featuring music from Culture Club and Depeche Mode, Kanarie is the story of Johan Niemand, drafted during apartheid by the South African Army, whose love for Boy George and Depeche Mode lands him a spot in the SADF Choir called the ‘Canaries’. Against a landscape where law and religion oppress individuality, the Canaries go on a nationwide tour of the country, pushing Johan to reckon with his long-repressed sexual identity, while examining the effects of nationalism on the soul and the tender brotherhood among misfits, Ultimately, Johan is forced to find his own voice and learn to fly.
