1) Groovy Guy: Tom Wolfe
The best-selling author, who died on May 14 at age 88, was known for both his non-fiction books, which include The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby (1965), The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968), Radical Chic & Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers (1970), The Painted Word (1975) and The Right Stuff (1979), and his novels, which include The Bonfire of the Vanities (1987), A Man in Full (1998), I Am Charlotte Simmons (2004) and Back to Blood (2012). The Right Stuff and The Bonfire of the Vanities were both adapted into films in 1983 and 1990, respectively.
