1) Groovy Guy: Harry Dean Stanton
The actor, who died September 15 at age 91, played polygamist prophet Roman Grant on the 2006-11 HBO series, Big Love. He also played Molly Ringwald's father in the 1986 comedy, Pretty in Pink, and trailer park owner Carl Rodd in the 1992 film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and in the 2017 Showtime revival of the series. Other film credits include Cool Hand Luke (1967), What's the Matter With Helen? (1971), Cisco Pike (1972), Dillinger (1973), Where the Lilies Bloom (1974), The Godfather Part II (1974), Rafferty and the Gold Dust Twins (1975), Rancho Deluxe (1975), Farewell, My Lovely (1975), 92 in the Shade (1975), Straight Time (1978), Alien (1979), The Rose (1979), The Black Marble (1980), Private Benjamin (1980), Escape from New York (1981), One from the Heart (1982), Young Doctors in Love (1982), Christine (1983), Repo Man (1984), Paris, Texas (1984), Red Dawn (1984), One Magic Christmas (1985), Fool for Love (1985), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), Twister (1989), Wild at Heart (1990), She's So Lovely (1997), The Straight Story (1999), The Green Mile (1999), Inland Empire (2006), Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction (2012) and Lucky (2017). Stanton was also the best man at actor Jack Nicholson's 1962 wedding.

The 82-year-old Academy Award-winning actress, whose new film, Victoria & Abdul, opened yesterday, is a guest on Ellen and The Late Late Show with James Corden (and guest Kyle MacLachlan).







5) Groovy Gal: Pamela Adlon
The Emmy-nominated actress, who is currently starring in the second season of her FX series, Better Things, is a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and AOL's BUILD Series.




6) Groovy Cast: Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally of Will & Grace
They appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and in the recent NBC special, The Paley Center Salutes the Best of Will & Grace. The NBC sitcom returns for a 16-episode ninth season beginning on September 28.





7) Groovy Trio: Billie Jean King, Andrea Riseborough and Austin Stowell
The former tennis star joins the two actors to promote their new film, Battle of the Sexes (which opened yesterday), on AOL's BUILD Series. Riseborough and Stowell - who play the respective roles of King's secret lover and King's husband in the movie - are also guests on TODAY (I saw the film earlier this week and enjoyed it a lot).




8) Groovy Music: Gwen Stefani's "You Make It Feel Like Christmas" featuring Blake Shelton
She has released the title track from her new Christmas album, which will be released on October 6 (click here to pre-order it).



9) Groovy Web Series: Bloomers
