The London Caipirinha Festival 2018 has kicked off with an opening event exclusively for travel agents

London is staging until Sunday 15 July the flavoursome festival designed to promote Brazilian cocktails, drinks, food and tourism

VBRATA (Visit Brazil Travel, Cultural and Business Association) in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in London, The Brazilian Tourist Board (EMBRATUR) and partners have organised the London Caipirinha Festival opening event dedicated to travel agents on Thursday, 5 July 2018.

The event took place at the Embassy of Brazil in Trafalgar Square, in the heart of central London, and welcomed over 100 travel agents who tasted 10 different flavours of caipirinhas and other Brazilian cocktails while sampling Brazilian food, tasting cachaça and participating in a workshop speed-dating style with quiz, prize draws and networking with exhibitors and guests.

The London Caipirinha Festival, on its second edition, is a festival to increase the visibility of Brazil as tourist and cultural destination, to promote caipirinhas, Brazilian cocktails, drinks and food to the general public and the travel trade as it uses the quintessential Brazilian national cocktail – internationally known-, the caipirinha, to call the travel trade and consumers’ attention to Brazil as a tourist destination as well as Brazilian food and drinks.

During the event travel agents participate in a workshop speed-dating style with the participation of The Brazilian Tourist Board (EMBRATUR), Air France & KLM, Gol Airlines and Yoo Hotels, in association with VBRATA and the Embassy of Brazil in London.

Three caipirinha bars, one batida (Brazilian popular cocktail) bar, drinks stalls, food and plenty more were available at the opening event giving travel agents an opportunity to learn more about Brazilian cocktails, drinks, food and culture and have fun!

THE COMPETITION IS NOW ON UNTIL SUNDAY 15 JULY 2018!

With over 31 London-based bars and restaurants competing for the title “London’s best caipirinha (original, fruits and exotic)”, “London’s best caipirinha bartender”, “London’s best Brazilian food” amongst other categories people should vote for their favourites.

Voting will rely on the participation of cocktail fans across London. By visiting the festival’s website (www.londoncaipfest.co.uk) and selecting the participating establishments, after visiting the competing bars or restaurant and tasting a caipirinha, customers will be invited to cast their votes online.

Choose your favourites, vote for them!

“We are thrilled to be working on the second edition of the London Caipirinha Festival which is now bigger with the inclusion of a series of new events in Spain and Italy. The festival as an annual event in London creates a great platform to further promote Brazil to British and European travel trade and consumers. The opening event for the travel trade in London was a great success and it was totally packed confirming that Brazilian cocktails and food as well as Brazilian culture are some of the greatest segments offered by Brazil. We are sure that the quintessential Brazilian cocktail will further whet the British appetite for all things Brazilian and give rise to new import opportunities for Brazilian products and services,” says Glauco Chris Fuzinatto, Chairman of VBRATA UK and creator of the London Caipirinha Festival.

“The competition is still on until Sunday 15 July in over 31 London-based bars and restaurants, so please visit these bars and vote for them online at www.londoncaipfest.co.uk”, concluded Fuzinatto.
