July in Review

Can we just take a moment to discuss how at the blink of an eye, we’re somehow now half way through the year?! It all feels quite unbelievable, yet here we are. July was a super quick month, filled with lovely events and visits. My parents came to Edinburgh for a week to visit, which meant I finally had some time off work, for the first time since January. It was nice to take a couple of days to relax and enjoy their company, as well as doing all the touristy things I usually wouldn’t do.

We ticked off something on our Edinburgh bucket-list. Heading along to the summer astronomy evening on Blackford Hill, for the most amazing view over the city. As well as geeking out learning all about stars and the universe.

There’s also been some lovely events this month here in Edinburgh. Including the new Life & Style summer event; where we were treated to a lovely day of pampering and workshops. I was also fortunate enough to enjoy the most beautiful seasonal summer’s afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria, which I don’t think I’ll be forgetting about any time soon!

Places Travelled

With my parents visiting, we headed across to Glasgow for the day. We walked all over the city, from the street art trails to Kelvingrove Gallery.

Back in Edinburgh, we took a trip out to the Forth Road bridges and watched as the fog crept in, consuming them in it’s path. Wandering along the pretty pastel seaside houses in South Queensferry, taking in the views across the water.

On a rare summers day, where it wasn’t raining in Edinburgh, we escaped city life for a while. Making the most of Bonaly Country Park, one of my favourites in the Pentlands.

Up & Coming

It’s now just less than a week before we fly to Belfast for our close friends wedding. There’s a big group of us all flying over and hiring cars to do a mini tour round afterwards, and I can’t wait. It’s somewhere I’ve never been do, despite being so close. Here’s to hoping for some sunshine!

With Edinburgh getting ready for the imminent arrival of the Fringe Festival in August, the city is already starting to buzz with the festival atmosphere. It’s something I have a love hate situation with, but I’m determined to book to see some shows this year and make the most of the weekends.

I’ll also be heading down to Bristol for Lauren’s hen do, which I’m SO excited about. It’s also somewhere I’ve never been to, so hoping to sneak in a few sightseeing stops along the way. Hot tubs and Prosecco anyone? See you there.

What have you been up to this month?
