The  52-Week Blog Challenge was started by Britts Daily Dose & Sit Back And Just Live. They welcomed anyone to link up with them. I’m enjoying the challenge as a way to get myself into blogging consistently and it’s fun!  If you want to participate you can too!  All you need to do is 1. post the banner at the top of the post and 2. link both of their blogs in your post!

Week 8 of the 52-Week Blog Challenge prompt is an unforgettable day in my life. There are so many little moments that were BIG, memorable moments.  Isn’t that what life’s about?

However, I would have to say that meeting the man of my dreams at the Minneapolis Airport is right up there!  How does that happen?  Facebook.  People really should be more careful about social media, says the girl with a blog.  Heh.

John flew to Minneapolis from Tucson for our first “date.”  Not the usual first date, but we had gotten to know one another well with long talks about what we find important in life.  We covered more ground there before he clocked the over 1,000 flight miles.

The following day we were sitting in Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis for a late lunch. Being February in the Midwest meant that it was cold, especially as the winds had picked up after a prolonged mild winter.  However, I barely noticed.

The sunlight filtered in through the heavy window sills and matched our moods as we sat star-crossed from one another.  I felt as if I were watching a familiar scene in a movie. Time was suspended.  The magnitude of the moment was palatable.

From the first evening, when we first chatted online and by phone, we knew there was a connection.  While our personalities and tastes are different, we had the common goals in life of wanting to work together to build a life based on mutual respect.  Add the law of attraction and BAM!

I knew sitting across from him that this was it.  This was the one that I had hoped was out there.  A partner that would foster my dreams and goals as I his.  The best friend I had been yearning to meet for so long.  Finally, I had found my heart.

He said he wasn’t sure how to say it, but he didn’t want to leave from his visit, without putting a ring on my finger.  We had already talked about this, but we were both certain we wanted to follow our hearts.

Another part of the fun of the weekend was that we didn’t tell anyone of our friends on FB including several mutual friends.  John checked into the airport in Phoenix, then at a layover in Denver, and then landing at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport announcing that he was meeting up with me.  To say it took everyone by surprise was an understatement!

Love truly was sweeter the second time around.
