CAE 2017 Letter to the Editor Sample and feedback

Dear Gustavo,

I would be grateful if you could take a look at the Letter I wrote.

I'm studying for the CAE exam and your help will be very appreciated!

Kind regards,
Flavio

You have recently read the following magazine article:
is it the end of the printed Book as we know it?

According to internet experts, the book is dead. What they are predicting is that by 2020 90% of everything we read will be in electronic form. So the form of the book that has been around for 1300 years will become extinct...

Letter to the editor of “Future Net” (220-260 words):

Feedback and comments in red

Dear Sir,
I have read the article published in your magazine on August 8th about the future of printed books, and I would like to share my impressions about that with you. (Feedback: say right away why you write: For example... "I would like to express my disagreement with the idea that...").

In my opinion, we are still not ready for not going to experience a substantial change in the way we read. In the last years, the spread of electronic devices affected our lives in such a way have gained a popularity we had not foreseen but this doesn't mean books will disappear. This is because we still find a pleasure on... (Feedback: explain why you think books will survive.)

So, as far as I'm concerned, worrying about the extinction of our form of the book, which itself replaced another form before, is pointless. (??What do you mean?) What is more, the prediction about the number of electronic books that will be in 2020 does not portrait the future status of printed books, although it represents the quantity of knowledge that will be stored in a safe, long-lasting electronic storage. (Feedback: so you say the statistics they used in the article are wrong? say it clearly. Say: I find the numbers you presented incorrect... and give new numbers).

I sincerely hope you will not find my letter critical or rude since my only aim was that of discussing an argument that deeply interests our lives.

I am looking forward to sending this letter to you, and I will be pleased to read your reply if you think it is worth. your prompt reply.

Yours faithfully,
Flavio Last Name
