RCCG Says Pastor Adeboye Remains The General Overseer
On Saturday, the Redeemed Christian Church of God dismissed the reports that the General Overseer of the church has reigned.
A press statement signed by Leke Adeboye at the weekend said the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is still the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide.
The official statement from the RCCG say, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye remains the G.O of the RCCG Worldwide.
The General Overseer’s last son. Leke Adeboye, who is also the Personal Assistant to th G.O said the clarification is coming because of the misrepresentation of Pastor Adeboye’s announcement at the Annual Ministers Thanksgiving which was held at the Redemption Camp that the Redeemed Church is now led by Pastor Joseph Obayemi.
Leke Adeboye’s statement clarified that the development is due to the new legal requirement which was set up by the Financial Regulations Council.
This regulations says that the head of non profit organizations like churches has a maximum period of twenty years to lead and while in retirement they re not authorized to hand over their leadership to their family members.
The personal Assistant to the RCCG General Overseer, Leke Adeboye appealed to members of the congregation to enlighten those around them and not propagate inaccuate information.
