7593ISLAMABAD – The government has decided to convert the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) into the fifth province of Pakistan. Geo news quoting Inter-Provincial Coordination Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzadar said that a committee headed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz had proposed giving the status of a province to GB. The government has approved the suggestion. Pirzada added that a bill to amend the Constitution of Pakistan in this regard will be presented in the National Assembly following the suggestion. He added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also utilise his special powers to convert GB into the provincial state. via Daily Pakistan
