Buland Prajatantra: voice of the voiceless

I’m sure you haven’t heard that name, ever. This Fortnightly in Hindi is national, now. Nobody told you about this because it’s yet to hit news stands or seek government ads. But 44,000 people are already subscribing it, as of date. And its subscribers include schools and jails too. Presently, it doesn’t have online presence and interested people need to subscribe it via post only. Seems cliche ! (i) snail mail; and (2) fortnightly. Eh! But it’s doing great through word of mouth, only.

Almost 100 people from journalists to media students contribute in turn to this 16-page fortnightly which relies heavily on analysts and inputs from housewives to our community’s elderly. Our internal survey tells us that Buland’s majority subscribers stick to it for they are tired of ‘news’ and hence they opted for Buland Prajatantra. And, when we go to print twice every month, it is ensured that our content is exclusive to us and cater to people from all walks of life, as we’re sensitive to our multicultural society.

With the tagline – Buland Bharat Ki Buland Aawaaz – the newspaper features out of the box cover stories, edition after edition, which give us courage to say that if we compare our tabloid-sized paper with any other publications that are available on a news stand, we do stand out. We’ve always believed that giving more people a voice makes the world a better place, and we’re excited about the future we’re all building together.
