Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. also known as Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is an American professional boxer and promoter. He has made history by defeating his 50th opponent and remaining unbeaten at 50-0. He is only boxer in the world to do that.

Early life
Floyd Mayweather Jr. was born on February 24,1977, in Grand Rapids Michigan, into a family of boxers. His father Floyd Mayweather Sr. and also a welterweight boxer. His uncles Jeff and Roger Mayweather were also professional boxers. He attended Ottawa High School before dropping out to pursue his boxing career.
Boxing has been an integral part of Floyd’s life since his childhood days. He has never considered any profession other than boxing. His lived a very humble life. In his childhood he lived in the Hiram Square neighborhood in New Jersey. According to him “When I was about eight or nine, I lived in New Jersey with my mom. We were seven people in one room and sometimes we didn’t have electricity. When people see what I have now, they have no clue where I came from and how I didn’t have anything while growing up”.
His mother was also addicted to drugs. “People don’t know the hell I’ve been through”, he adds.
Career
He competed in boxing matches from 1996- 2007 and 2009-2015 and has made one comeback fight in 2017. During his remarkable career, he held a number of world titles which include five weight classes and one bronze medal. The bronze medal was in the feather weight division at the 1996 Olympics. In addition to this, he won three U.S Golden Gloves championships. He retired with an undefeated record of 50-0, surpassing Rocky Marciano’s record of 49-0. Mayweather was also ranked as the greatest boxer by ESPN for pound for pound championships.
Mayweather is one of the highest paid athletes in the world. His lifetime earnings stand at a whopping $700 million. Mayweather is considered as the most lucrative pay-per-view attractions of all the time, in any sport. He was ranked as the highest paid athlete by Forbes magazine in 2012. 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Personal life
Floyd has never married, he got engaged to a couple of women but never married any of them. Floyd was in a relationship with his childhood sweetheart Josie Harris from 1993- 2007. The couple have three kids- 2 boys (Zion and Koraun) and 1 girl Jirah. Mayweather lives in a 22,000-square-foot (2,000 m2), five bedrooms, seven bath, custom-built mansion in Las Vegas, Nevada.
