AppleInsider is reporting that Apple could update their Ipod series of portable media players within this month.The company was earlier expected to launch them sometime in September.The report said that the company could hold the event on either August 16 or 17.Apple is expected to update their iPod Touch, iPod nano and iPod Shuffle at this event.They could also use this event to launch the latest edition of Apple iLife which is rumored to contain a new mystery application.

The company has been on a roll this year. They launched the iPad and the iPhone 4 both of which have been massively successful for the company.
