We all run into mean and thoughtless people everyday, and the best thing to do is to let them go.

It is amazing how often others will go out of their way to be a Jerk to others. I once had a doctor tell me that the way that someone treats you says everything about them, and nothing about you. It has taken me a long time in my life, but I believe that now.

When people treat me disrespectfully now I just let it go. I don’t give them another thought. It is really unfortunate that some people haven’t had the opportunity or wisdom to treat others with respect. People seem to take it as a point of pride in how they act. They say that they are just “being themselves” or “are an honest person”. All of which are codenames for being a jerk.

To me, the world demands that you have kindness and patience with others. It is not easy. At times it can be very frustrating to wait while others learn and begin to understand what they should already understand. It is amazing too to see mature adults who still act like children. I wish that there was more maturity in the world.

I think the reason that people are Jerks is that their feelings are hurt. I have only seem people in pain act disrespectfully long term. People who are generally happy don’t need to hurt others. At times when people are jerks I have compassion for them. I wonder what happened in their life and sometimes I want to ask. Of course however, I am not their doctor and people will ask for help when they are ready to receive it.

People who are jerks need help, not more anger and drama. Perhaps you can help them grow by your patience and kindness as an example.
