Why is Yahoo! in decline?

Tags: yahoo

Now that is something that I never thought I say even with the ever-wielding presence of Google.
When the news about Microsoft trying to buy Yahoo! came about I thought that was an amazing offer and that for the current Google dominated marketed in search, they should have sold it especially since there stock was de-valuing, but they couldn't thrash out a deal and then Jerry Yang departed which I thought was a good move, he was a co-founder and an adept CEO, but I think it was a good move bringing in Carol Bartz she has the necessary experience I belive to turn Yahoo! around, although as i'm saying this Yahoo! are still the second most visited site on the net and make $7 Billion in revenue, but no matter what Yahoo! do they can't seem to dislodge Google from the top of the search market, and now that Bing has come along and took the market by storm one has to wonder what can Yahoo! and Bartz do to make them a challenger to Google's dominance.
If you take a look at Yahoo's services they are often behind the market leader, Yahoo! Search (2nd to Google), Yahoo! Video (YouTube), Yahoo! News (Several), I think that if Yahoo! want to become a major competitor again they should find on niche and concentrate a large amount of time making that service into the market leader and then start to improve other areas and challenge Google once more.
