Gmail allows to Preview the attachment as Html - list of supported file types: .pdf, .doc, .xls, .ppt, .rtf, .sxw, .sxc, .sxi, .sdw, .sdc, .sdd, and .wml. To see the preview just click View as HTML link. This function is available only in English (US) language version.
