Or, if you’re like the vast majority of people now, you use a dating app or website. And when you talk about a dating app, the first name that comes to mind has to be Tinder, right? Tinder has revolutionized the way we meet new people around us. A simple swipe and you may find the match of your life. Or, you may just find someone to have some fun with. Whichever you find, it all starts with a Tinder account.

Tinder, a social search and location-based mobile app, was developed by IAC and founded by Sean Rad, Justin Mateen, Dinesh Moorjani, Joe Munoz, Jonathan Badeen, and Whitney Wolfe. It was first released in the September of 2012 and by 2014 had over a billion “swipes” every day. People use the app either for dating app or hookups. You swipe on the pictures of other Tinder users nearby, swiping right if you “like” someone and swiping left if you don’t. If you and the other person both swipe right on each other, it is considered a “Match”, allowing you to chat with each other. This matching, and getting a Tinder account requires you to connect the app with your Facebook account.

So, how do you get a Tinder account? The easiest method is to download the Tinder app on your mobile phone. If you are an Android user, you can download the app from the Google Play Store at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinder. If, however, you use an iOS device, you can go to the Apple Store, at itunes.apple.com/app/tinder/id547702041, to download Tinder and install it. Once you have installed the app, you simply need to sign in using your Facebook account. You can also sign up for a Tinder account through the Tinder website, at www.tinder.com. Here, again, if you want to sign up or log in, you have to do so with your Facebook account.
