Rockstar Games delays ‘Red Dead Redemption’ prequel launch

NEW YORK (Heartland Newsfeed) — You may have to wait a little bit longer for the prequel of Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption, which was released in May 2010.

The prequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, following the same open-world western theme as its predecessor, was originally set for release for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One gaming platforms in October 2016 and was delayed until May 2017 before an announcement that it would come out in the spring of 2018.

A recent release from Rockstar Games cited that RDR2 will be released on October 26, stating that “we apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay.”

“While we hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish,” the release continued.

The screenshots feature a new protagonist, Arthur Morgan, walking towards the screen with two guns and exploring the Wild West-themes open world on horseback.

Rockstar released a second trailer for the game in September, showing Morgan robbing a train and partaking in other illegal activities as a member of the Van Der Linde gang.

The Van Der Linde Gang, also known as Dutch’s Gang, was featured in the original game which featured protagonist John Marston, who had left the gang. The new game is considered by Rockstar to be a prequel to the original.
