Udaipur : A BJP leader was strangulated to death near the jungle area of Joganiya Mata Temple in Begu of Chittorgarh district, his body was found inside the trunk of his car on friday morning. His hands and legs were tied up with lachha-moli (sacred thread) thus suggesting that the murder could have been done for some tantrik reasons. The deceased was identified as Chunnilal Joshi (60) resident of Ladpura in Mandalgarh tehsil of Bhilwara.

” Joshi had gone to Menal from his house on Thursday evening but when he didnt return by night, his family launched a search in the morning. They enquired with their relatives and other friends and even went to the toll plaza. They spotted his car near Joganiya Mata temple area and saw his body inside the car’s trunk” ASP Rawatbhata BhawaniShankar Meena informed. His body was tied all over with sacred thread and blood was coming out from nose and ears.

The FSL and dog squad was pressed and evidences were collected from the crime spot. Ingredients generally used by tantriks like lemon, vermilion, incense sticks, sword etc have been found inside the car while there was also a diary having details of financial dealings. Police said it could be a planned murder and to mislead the police investigation, probably the pooja items have been kept. Chunnilal has two sons, one is a teacher while other a truck driver in one of the mine. Police is interrogating the deceased’s brother and sons. Joshi himself had a mine which he had sold to one Babu Chacha in Jhalawad. The buyer had not paid the complete amount to Joshi, similarly he had also purchased a land from someone but that too was in a dispute with the seller.
