Microsoft has announced the Xbox One in India. Priced at Rs 29,990 the Xbox One S is already available for preorder in India on Amazon.in and Flipkart along with a couple of other retailers. The company will be selling the Xbox One S with the Horizon 3 bundle, and the gaming console will be available in both 500GB and 1TB storage options. The Horizon 3 bundle will include Forza Horizon 3, Xbox Wireless Controller and 14-day Trial Membership for Xbox Live Gold.

As part of the pre-launch offer, Microsoft will also be giving away Gears of War 4 and the Classic Battlefield one for those who preorder online from either Amazon India or Flipkart. Xbox One S comes with a reduced footprint and a revamped design. The console supports 4K Ultra HD for Blu-Ray movies and content that’s streamed from Netflix. In the meanwhile, HDR 10 support will be extended to both video and gaming. That said the gaming titles are available in plenty and offers backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games and also a couple of original Xbox titles.

That being said, the Xbox One S will only launch on October 5, and while the 500GB Forza 3 bundling costs Rs 29,990, the 1TB variant will be available for Rs 34,990. On a separate note its slightly disappointing that Microsoft didn’t bother to bring in the more recent Xbox One X. As with all the gaming consoles in India the Xbox One S is priced a lot a higher (import duties) in India as opposed to the U.S., In fact, the price difference between the Indian and the U.S pricing is as much as $150.
