Vivo V5s is the latest addition to the Chinese OEM’s V series smartphones in India. It is the successor to the Vivo V5 that was launched early this year. Needless to say, the highlight of the new Vivo V5s is its camera, especially the selfie snapper, just like its predecessor.

The Vivo V5s comes with a metal unibody design featuring a slim profile. This smartphone, however, comes with a new design. The camera placements have been changed and the antenna bands have now moved to the top and bottom of the Vivo V5s. It looks like Vivo has drawn some inspiration from its V5 Plus while building this phone. Up front, it has a 5.5-inch HD (just 720p) IPS protection Vivo is providing a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass. Powering the Vivo V5s is an octa-core Mediatek 6750 processor. This is mated with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Incidentally, the internals of the Vivo V5s is identical to its predecessor except for the increased storage.

Manning the camera department is a 13MP rear shooter with Phase Detection Autofocus sensor. The USP of the Vivo V5s however, is its selfie snapper. It sports a 20MP front camera which is capable of clicking with angle selfies. That aside, the front camera is aided by a Moonlight flash. This implementation is similar to the one seen in Apple iPhones. Here, the display flashes a white screen and reaches its peak brightness while clicking a selfie under low light, thereby creating a soft flash like experience.

Underneath the hood, the Vivo V5s features a decent 3,000 mAh battery. It is expected to last you through a day of heavy to moderate use. Apart from that the Vivo V5s also features a fingerprint sensor located on the front aspect of the device. It also features a HiFi AK4376 audio chip for an improved listening experience. The rest of the specifications include Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, micro USB, Digital Compass and 4G LTE.

Vivo V5s is priced at Rs 18,990 in India. It will be available via online and offline retails stores across the country. It comes in two color options namely Rose Gold and Matte Black. The phone goes on sale starting today.
