Review Summary
The Schwinn Stites Fixie 700C wheel bicycle is not strictly a hybrid bike but more of a simple throwback to a time when gears on bikes were not really a necessity. However, this bike does come with everything you need to get you to and from your destination with a design that is both speedy and relaxed. As per a lot of fixie style bikes, the colors are distinctive and in this case not too overstated but lets people know it’s not the norm!! It’s designed to be sporty and keeps maintenance to an absolute minimum with none of the comforts such as disc brakes or complicated gear systems. The price is set at a value which means it’s affordable too. Probably most important, this is actually a single speed bicycle as opposed to a fixie. This means that you can free wheel on the bike, e.g. when you’re not pedaling, the bike will keep moving as opposed to a fixie which would stop!!
Price
The price for the Schwinn Stites Fixie 700C wheel bicycle is pretty good. It’s set low enough that if you need to buy a few extras or do any upgrades, you’ve got money left to do so!!

Quality of the Components
The Schwinn Stites Fixie 700C wheel bicycle components can be broken down into various areas that determine the quality. Each of these components can in isolation drop the overall rating for a bike review, simply because the weakest part may be the area which causes the bike overall to be lower quality, i.e. a low quality seat isn’t really an area for concern as opposed to low quality brakes or gears which make a bike unsafe or hard to use.
Frame: Steel racing frame and fork.
Seat: Racing seat.
Pedals: Very basic pedals.
Brakes: Standard linear pull brakes (clincher style). Nice and simple, just be careful if you’re riding downhill to keep your speed under control as you won’t be able to stop in a hurry with this brake configuration as opposed to other bikes with disc brakes. The brakes are fairly cheap so best to be replaced.
Gears: Single speed – this is a free wheel riding hub (i.e. spins when you’re not pedaling).
Wheel set: 29 Inch wheels – standard 700c size. Nice looking colored rims to make the bike stand out!!
Weight: Very light 28 lbs or 12.7 kgs
East & Costs for Maintenance
If you use the bike a lot, you’re bound to need to do maintenance at some point. That might be as simple as fixing a flat tyre, adjusting the gears or changing brake pads.
The Schwinn Stites Fixie 700C wheel bicycle gets a good mark for ease and cost of maintenance. This is due to the fact that you’ll be able to do a lot of the work yourself. One minor issue, if you get a puncture while riding the bike, you’ll need a spanner/wrench to remove the wheels and replace the tube. Other than this, the bike is easy to assemble.
If any of the work is outside of your comfort zone, any bike shop will be able to do the maintenance for you due to the very common nature of the components and easy access to parts.
Comfort
The bike gets an OK rating for comfort. The seat is more race bike styled and the pedals could do with replacing.
One other factor to consider is the lack of fenders. If you bike to work in wet weather or on wet roads, you’re going to get a very wet backside. This is easily resolved with a low cost bike fender available from Amazon.
Look
The Schwinn Stites Fixie 700C wheel bicycle is a nice looking bike.I’m a big fan of race styled bikes and this bike looks good in either of the color options although the silver/blue color definitely makes a statement!!
