Helllllooooo! It’s been too long. I’ve been busy, you’ve been busy, so let’s just settle in with a nice cuppa and have a chat.

So I’m getting married this year! We’ve been engaged for nearly three years so we guessed it was about time. Romantic, amiright?! Really though, I’m so thrilled. And Excited. And terrified. But mostly excited.

So who would like to hear all about our wedding? Nobody? Well, whatever, I’m telling you anyway

The date We chose December 27 this year. I know it’s really close to Christmas, but that’s basically why we chose it. All of our nearest and dearest will be home and we felt that the atmosphere at that time of year is extra special.

The Venue I am so so pumped about the venue! It’s a hotel in Cork City called The Imperial and it really is so beautiful. As we are both history graduates, we wanted somewhere with a bit of character and with a story to tell. It is beautifully vintage and elegant and ohmygod I can not wait!

I am obsessed. Maybe I’ll just marry the hotel

The Ceremony As neither of us are religious, we chose to have a humanist ceremony. Our celebrant will be the lovely Geraldine O’ Neill and I’m so excited for the ceremony! We can tailor make it to do anything we like, really.

My Engagement Ring My Engagement Ring is a princess cut morganite on a band of white gold and diamonds. It is my baby.

The Cake I’m getting a local lady called Ms. Cupcake Cork (not her actual name) to do the cake…which is actually going to be cupcakes. She is an actual cake genius! Here are some examples of her work:

Invites

I am so excited for these! My friend from work is an absolutely amazing artist and runs her own stationery business. She is fab! We’re still very much in the early stages of this but here are some samples of her work from her Instagram page You should really look at her work, it’s just so pretty and elegant!

We obviously have more to consider but these are the definites so far! I’ll be dress shopping soon enough and choosing flowers, entertainment and the menu!

I have a makeup trial on Monday too, eek!
