I was one of the luckiest people from our gang to write almost all placement exam conducted by an agency called Shreds in Cochin. Luckily I got enough percentage to appear in all company exams. We went to Cochin had awesome food, stayed at one of my friend's uncle's guest house. Majjani life..!! For Ist two exams we didn't even bother to study and wrote exam. Result was as expected. Next time I got more company from our gang as everyone improved their percentage or cut off got reduced. This time we prepared well and wrote exams for Infosys, Capegemini, Aztec, I flex ...etc. But I didn't clear any. I still remember the boat trip that we went for after losing in Infosys exam. That was awesome. In the middle it rained, still we enjoyed the trip. During these exams some of them got placed. For TCS exam, lot from my College whoever attended before me got placed. So I thought its no big deal even I can clear these stupid exams. I wrote it with immense hope but still no miracle. That was an online exam and the computer said "Dude enough.. Go and write nursery exams and then come back after 6 months". What to do what to do. But I was not that depressed. Tension was only for my producer. My stupid son not even clearing a single exam. What am I gonna do what am gonna do with this idiot. Obviously producer will get upset if he is not getting the money back that he invested in my exams. All exams starring me were utter flop.

Then came the campus recruitment in 8th semester. Only one company came to recruite in our world popular college. HCL Infosystems. It was for some network engineer post. God knows what was that. Anyway we all wrote exams. Some of them opted out saying that job doesn't suite their status. Anyways, I, Varun Mohan, Jijin and Abhishek (Class topper) from our class cleared the exam. I think Bablu dutt from our class was also cleared. Hooraayy.. Ist time passed a company exam. Couldn't sleep for 2 days. HCL officials asked us to attend Interview in our Cochin university. We all were very excited for our Ist interview. We reached there one day before and stayed in CUSAT University College. Wow that college was amazing. It was a big college and the students there were very funny. Anyways we started preparing for our big interview. We did some mock interview session and all... Boy we were that much excited. I bihearted some question and answers. " Hi, I am Shimith. I am from College of engineering thalassery. I am doing BTech IT. My hobbies are ...". I went through my projects also. We all did. Then came the day. We all were up very early and got ready for the big day. Did we wear Tie? Well I don't remember. Whatever, we did our best to show we are there to get the job and won't go back until we get freedom.. oops..sorry job. We reached the office where they were conducting the interview session on time. Till reaching there I was fine. Once I saw the students waiting there for interview I started losing my optimism. From these many people how many of them gonna get the job. I don't look smarter than them at all (than ones from my gang as well). Anyways, my turn came. I went and sat in front of the interviewer. He took my resume and said “Hi Shimith.. So you are an IT student from College of engineering Thalassery right..!!" I blinked for a while and said yes. I got nervous. Whatever I had prepared was already told by him. Now what..!! He asked me what was my favourite subject. I didn't prepare for this question so I took a while to answer. I was thinking of my plus two days and College was nowhere near in my mind. And I said Physics. As he couldn't ask any questions related to Physics he asked for my favourite subject in college. Now mindset back to college Ist semester and I said Engineering Mechanics. He asked me what was that subject. I said its related to Physics. He got fed up with me and asked me Newton's Ist law of motion. Seriously telling I am not that good in Physics. But still the answer came in my mouth and I omitted it. I think he got impressed. Then he asked me why I was attending the interview. I said "for a job”. Then what. Stupid question. He asked me what job. I said "This is for Network engineer, isn't it?" He said yes and drew some diagram and said HCL has got so many functional, areas and marked all areas like S/w engineer, Network engineer, call centre and all. He said I should be knowing all the functionality in a company if I am working for that company. I didn't understand what his point was so I shook my head whenever he said "right?". Then came the question. From this diagram which post you want? Damn it; I was not at all listening and I started staring at the diagram. I saw Network engineer somewhere and I pointed that particular box and told I want this, like Archimedes said Eureka..!! He stared at me and started explaining all company related stuffs. I gave up my hope as I knew that HCL and all HCL related companies never hire me. I thought they will ban me on appearing again for HCL..!! My interview lasted 45 mins. Everyone had same kind of stories to tell. But I thought I was the stupidest among all.

Days passed by and life was normal again. Last semester exams so we got engaged in studies. Few days after the interview VISHU came, Malayali New year, I got up early and lightened crackers got some pocket money from dad and some relatives like a normal VISHU. I just connected to internet and checked my mail which I won't do daily. I saw a mail from a guy called Kunal Varma saying I was selected to work for HCL in AP. I couldn't believe the mail. After all my idiotic acting in interview they selected me. After some 10-15 flops this movie became a blockbuster..!!Wow..!! They selected only 3 persons from our college and they were ShijiTH, ManjiTH and ShimiTH. Then I understood the logic for selection criteria. The recruitment was for persons with identical names, though other two were brilliant students.

We knew that we had to be in contract period for a year with HCL and need to pay RS- 1 Lakh from which they will give 60000 RS back. Whatever I was a bit excited as I got a job. Eventhough movie was an unexpected hit the Producer was not so happy as he was already in debt. One day Mom asked me if I really wanted to go for it as Dad was getting no sleep to make that much amount. haahhh...Testng times... I said ok then I am not going and kicked the Ist job I got out from my mind. Life is a rollercoaster.!!
