Happiest of Holidays, Merry Christmas, and blessings to everyone, their precious families, and children. This Christmas 2008, I make Prayers for those who cannot be with their families (i.e. departed, living, separated, divorced, estranged, military, and absent, etc). The greatest gifts one when can give or make are self-change and love for the sake of love. Jesus Christ of Nazareth spoke of agape (love for the sake of love) and it is a beautiful, universal message. In that same spirit, I wish and pray for peace unto all, forgiving thy enemies, and projecting genuine caring for all sentient beings.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS, MY FELLOW HUMAN BEING, AND THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT. I RELEASE MY ENEMIES FROM THE POISONS OF HATE, ENVY, AND PRIDE ON THIS DAY AND SO FORTH. POSITIVE KARMA TO ALL.

Powerful prayers to my daughters, Rachel Avril and Genevieve, their mother and her family, to U.S. Army soldier Kiley-Scot and U.S. Marine Chas-Beau and all military overseas and stateside. Prayers for peace in the Middle East and for the innocent casualties of war. Powerful prayers and profound appreciation for my ancestors, who continually watch over me and my loved ones. To my father, I ask for help and strength. To my mother, I ask for patience and to be forgiven.

Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer),
Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the Written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect -- it is often carved into stones and written freely, like the one pictured above, and placed where people can see them.

Spinning the written form of the mantra around in a Mani Wheel (or prayer wheel) is also believed to give the same benefit as saying the mantra, and Mani wheels, small hand wheels and large wheels with millions of copies of the mantra inside, are found everywhere in the lands influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Below is the Sanskrit form of OMPH. The Tibetan form is slightly different, Om Mani Peme Hung.
