When it comes to home or office cooling, an air conditioning system is always the first house choice. But air conditioner is expensive, unaffordable for most people, and they are not energy efficient as they consume a lot of electric power during hot seasons. Fans are the next best thing after air conditioners, as they can also function efficiently during winter and summer, and they are very affordable.

You have to make findings into the different types of fans suitable for your homes or offices before going right ahead to purchase one. Not choosing the right fan will only add another item that you will probably use without much benefit or end up in your basement with other unused things.

Fans can serve different purposes either inside your home or office. It can be used for body cooling, Exhausting Hot Air from the room or office, kitchen cooling and so on. Ceiling Fans

These are fans that are hanged on the ceiling of a room and rotates clockwise or anticlockwise direction in a full revolution when turned on. There are two types of Ceiling Fans based on the motor type:

The AC Motor Fan which can only rotate in the anticlockwise direction, but one can also change the direction of the fan manually.

The DC Motor Fan which can rotate in both the anticlockwise and clockwise directions. When the ceiling fan is moving in the anticlockwise direction which is also normal mode, it pushes the airflow towards the floor of the room. The reverse draws the cool air towards the room ceiling. This type of ceiling fans is very versatile and can be used winter and summer. Ceiling fans have become more technologically advanced in recent years with features such as:

  • Integrated with a LED light kit.
  • Lightweight remote control
  • Fan motor which capable of rotating in both directions
  • Pull chains for easy control (on/off)
  • Bowl light kit

A ceiling fan types expends an average of 60-70 watts of electric power with a voltage rating of 110 or 120 volts. Ceiling fans can be used in the garage, outdoor space or patio, living room, and bedroom.
