BEAUTIFUL NEW FRITZ HANSEN STORE IN CHINA

Danish furniture brand Fritz Hansen recently opened its first store and showroom in Xi’an, with the ambition to become the biggest Danish brand in China. Designed by Jaime Hayon, it is the brand’s first in China and the biggest store yet with over 1000 square meters.

The store features ‘temple-like’ interiors with high ceilings, warm-hued walls and vaulted walkways. Hayon used the contrast of the height with the softness, beauty and the organic shapes inside to create a beautiful and unique showroom. When walking along the sweeping staircase and glossy green reception desk, you find 14 smaller rooms which display the Fritz Hansen collection in a more intimate and cozy setting. These are arranged in a more scenographic approach to avoid looking like a typical retail store and feel more homely.

I love the colour palette of warm shades like sage green, rose pink, plum purple, and slate blue used in the space along with the neutral tones and grey. The terrazzo flooring has an organic brass line which draws a simplistic face when seen from above. A beautiful detail!

Established in 1872, Fritz Hansen is one of the world’s leading design and manufacturers of exclusive design, recognized by their design icons such as the Egg and the Swan chair created by the legendary Danish Architect, Arne Jacobsen. With a design philosophy that focuses on being original, timeless, sculptural and pure, Fritz Hansen’s aim is to enhance their customer’s lifestyle and image with beautiful, original designs with superior quality.
