Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011

It´s that time of year again when you make a balance of all the things that have happened whether good or bad and how they´ve marked a moment in your life. Now it´s time to reset your watch and start fresh. It´s like having the chance to begin all over again. Even though change can be challenging for some people, it´s unavoidable when midnight strikes on the 31st of December. It´s become almost a tradition to want change and to show the desire for it. This is why people make resolutions. A guideline for the changes they are willing to stand by throughout the year. Here are some of the most common changes people look forward to in the new year.

Spending more time with family and cutting down hours at work. Recent statistics have shown that the American population has made a vow to stregthen their family bonds. Work and time seem to always be draining all our energy leaving us little to enjoy with our loved ones. One hour less of work can mean enjoying a bike ride with your children or playing a pool set with some friends.

Being caring with others and helping the needy. It´s not just about giving clothes or food at Thanksgiving. People have a stronger need to see others well. Give more to charity or volunteer extra hours.

Doing more physical activities is definetly a must. Ok so you have a collection of membership cards from 10 different gyms and none of them have you stepped in more then twice. Instead of pressuring yourself to go to the gym and feeling embarrased because your not quite at your goal weight, plan other activities that are just as successful as the treadmill. For example, if you have love the water take some swimming Classes versus Combat class. Or go roller blading, bike riding, or simply walk around the park. Make getting in shape fun rather than bootcamp.

Have more cash and less debts is soemthing people put on their priority list. Make yourslf a budget and stick to it so that you can start paying back your debst and save more money.
Quit smoking! Make it a no excuses resolution to stop that unhealthy habbit. Not only will this be helping your health and fitness but also be saving you hundreds during the year.  There are support centers, smoking cessation classes,  and toll free numbers to assist and support you even if you feel like you´ve failed at quitting before. Sometimes it take sa couple of attempts to make it right.

Learn something new! Have you been putting aside learning Italian, or taking those delicious cooking classes or learning macrame? Make it your resolution this year to upgrade your knowledge and learn something new. It´ll give you something to look forward to during the week (helps beat the routine) and once you´ve mastered it, will make you feel real good.

Get a penpal or create a blog and write your daily experiences. The social network offers an endless possibility to meet new people and exchange many ideas. Perhaps talkinbg to someone new may give you thrilling ideas for the new year.
