Because of the types of material a Tie is made out of, they are susceptible to creases and wrinkles that other clothing items aren’t susceptible to getting. It is because of this that you have to take some extra time with caring for them and packing them for a move. Today, we’ve put together a guide on how to pack your ties for a move!
The Roll Method
There are two ways to pack your ties without ruining them. The first method involves rolling your ties. Whatever you do, don’t fold them. Folding them or bunching them up is what causes creases and wrinkles.
First, take the skinny end of the tie in the palm of your hand and let the rest fall over the back of your hand, then roll it up gently. You don’t want to roll too tightly. After you’ve rolled it up, you can place your tie in a shoebox or other small container to keep it safe during transportation.
The Hangar Method
The second method for packing your ties involves a Tie Rack. You can put them on the tie rack and then pack the tie rack carefully in a box. Just be careful that you don’t allow them to bunch up. If they shift too much during the move and get wrinkled, it’s going to be nearly impossible to get the wrinkles out of the ties.
Packing for a move is always difficult. Especially if you’re a busy person with a full schedule. When you’re packing, making the time to visit the dry cleaners to pick up your suit and ties is a non-option, so it’s important to know how to pack them properly so that they won’t get wrinkled or damaged. Have any insight? We’d love to hear from you!
