The Coastal Farmhouse tagline, Live Life Beautifully, really encompasses more than just creating a beautiful home. When I dreamed up Coastal Farmhouse and what I wanted to accomplish and bring to peoples lives was much more than just a “pretty home.” Beyond the professional and personal goals, we all set for ourselves, I think what each of us really wants and strives for is a beautiful life. And by a beautiful life, I’m not talking about what we are being fed on TV. It isn’t about owning expensive clothes & purses, driving high-end cars or having the perfect body. It has nothing to do with wealth. Living life beautifully is how we enjoy what God/The Universe has given us. It’s about the daily choices we make with regard to our food, our homes, our free time. It’s about making the choice to prepare a simple meal at home using fresh ingredients vs grabbing fast food. It’s about turning off the TV and going outside to experience nature in any form- in any place. It’s about feeding your soul with books and music and art. It’s about creating a peaceful and inviting home where we can rest and feel good about inviting people over to socialize.

Do I daily choose beauty over the mundane?
The description of what constitutes a beautiful life is different for every person. However, there are certain common things that each of us needs each day so that our lives are more than work and laundry. Many people, including myself, have lived a life full of possessions, with a soul full of hatred, a job that sucks the very life out of them, and an emptiness inside. For me personally, even with my struggles and difficulties, I realized life is beautiful depending on what I choose to focus on. It’s all too easy to rush through life and fail to notice all the beauty around us. But if we truly desire to create a beautiful life we must slow down and pay attention to all beautiful things. By working, dating, eating, living, creating, indulging and adventuring in ways that feel right to you, you are living in alignment with your soul. And when you live in alignment with your soul, you come alive, and the whole world benefits.

A beautiful life requires work & effort.
Turn off the computer. I know… crazy talk. Get off Pinterest. and Tumblr. and Instagram. and Facebook. and Twitter. not forever…but for now. Shut it down. I love social media. I love blogs. I love the Internet. I love shopping on the Internet, reading my news on the Internet, and on and on. But it can also be a time drain. I’ve literally lost hours of my life in the depths of Pinterest or Instagram. While it’s a great source of inspiration, it’s just that… inspiration. Unless you take that inspiration and act on it…well, it will always remain just a source of inspiration. Pretty photos will not make your life any more beautiful or wonderful, I promise. Don’t live your life vicariously through the internet. Get out there and create your own beautiful life!

How to Live Life Beautifully
As I look ahead to the new year and reassess my life, consider goals and make plans for the year ahead I’d really like to use this little space I’ve carved in the Internet to share ideas and inspiration for creating a holistic, 360 Coastal Farmhouse lifestyle. Creating the life you want to live is a journey, an adventure, and completely possible. I hope you’ll join me in 2018!
