Rose View House, on the Costa del Sol, Now up for sale

Well that’s it ! We have officially moved from our beloved home in southern Spain. After 27 years on the Spanish sun soaked Costa del Sol – we require a more temperate climate! So north we head. And, with the very best of intentions, and more than a tear or two, we have placed our lovely home up for sale.

This is the home we have lived, and loved in for the past 18 years. We now leave her to the next chapter. To new people, who will most assuredly relish in the comfort, and beauty of this home, and her Garden. A home perfectly positioned – Under the Spanish Sun ….

So, without further ado, here is a detailed description of Rose View House :

Rose View House Property Brief

The house is located in a secure gated community of Mijas Golf, and comprising of only 25 properties. It is a townhouse with golf views, situated over two floors, actually 3 floors if you count the large sun Terrace. Comprising of two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, a front porch, and patio. A ground floor back terrace, a bedroom balcony, the fore mentioned sun terrace. And of course a kitchen, a laundry room, and an ample living room …

The Front Garden

The Path

You approach the house through a lovely garden path which is enjoyed by only 4 other houses. This path is full of David Austin roses, and companion plants, all of which I am leaving to the gardens. Should the new owners wish, they can take over the gardening of the path as I did.

The Patio

You enter the front patio of the house through a wooden arch which straddles the path. This is adorned with stephanotis (Madagascan Jasmin) and pink trumpet vine, white gaura dances at its feet … There are also two very small ponds here on the left of the path. The patio furniture is yours with the house.

Porch

The front porch of the house is framed on the right with both common, and pink Jasmin which will scent the whole house through out the year. I have just cut them back hard so they are more than ready to spring into full blossom …

First Floor

On entering the house you will find a staircase on the right, which leads to the second floor.

Kitchen

To the left here is the kitchen. Which is complete with fridge freezer, oven, and gas hob. This kitchen has been thoroughly loved, and produced delicious breakfast, lunches and dinners … tapas … fresh pasta … cheese cakes … apple pies … and the rest …

The Laundry room, or Potting Shed !

Through the kitchen to the left there is a launderette where the washing machine is housed, alongside a vintage sink. Now, I turned this area into a well worked potting shed ! But it can be knocked through to extend the kitchen, or even used as a wet room for a dog. You could also put a window in here that would look out over the front path.

Small downstairs loo

Back out to the hallway from the kitchen, there are 3 steps down into the living room. But before we arrive there, you will find a small lavatory and sink room on the right.

Living Room

Stepping down into the large living area, there is a beautiful, and devilishly comfortable extended sofa.

A working chimney with fitted flue. A decorative iron work shelved area, a solid wood TV stand – with a smart TV.

And, a solid hard wood dining table, with four matching chairs.

Back Garden Terrace

Moving through the French doors to the back terrace, there are two Jasmin, common and pink, again cut back ready to burst into flower. These too help scent the house beautifully all year.

The terrace is of ample size, and comes complete with two very comfortable chairs, and a tidy table overlooking the community gardens – A glass of wine anyone? Olives, cheese … a cold beer perhaps?

You will see a raised bed extending from the back of the house into the gardens, this belongs to the house and has three David Austin roses which are spectacular throughout the year. However, you can extend the terrace out into the garden, creating a larger tiled area. And even glass the extension in to create a larger indoor space.

Swimming Pool

The pool is compliant with all current legal requirements,  and open all year ! It is the focal point of the community gardens, and well maintained.

Second Floor

Spare Bedroom

Moving up the staircase at the front of the house, you will find a small landing. Turning to the left there are three additional steps that lead you to the spare bedroom, or gymnasium, as per your requirements!

This room is of ample size, has a double fitted wardrobe, and French shuttered doors that open out onto a tiny balcony.

Bathroom

Back down the three steps to the landing you will find a large bathroom with the original deep bath.

The suite is a cool grey on cream tiled walls, with a white tiled flooring. This is a good sized bathroom, which can be split into two, allowing each bedroom its own on-suite.

Master Bedroom

This is the room that sold the house to me. The French doors onto the bedroom balcony just glow golden in the sunshine, radiating light through the curtains … The room is a good size, has two double fitted wardrobes, and yes, we are leaving this gorgeous faux suede sleigh bed … No grand hotel bed has ever beaten this one !

Bedroom Terrace

This was one of my favourite places in the world … There is a breakfast, or dining table and chairs, to enjoy the view across the gardens and golf course. The jasmines from the ground floor fence reach all along the balcony railings, and up to the wooden beams overhead. I leave the scent to your imagination … There is also a water tap here for easy irrigation.

Sun Terrace

The spiral staircase on the bedroom balcony leads up to the seriously spacious sun terrace. There is water, and electricity up here so it can very easily be made into a fantastic chillout zone. I often toyed with the idea of putting a plunge pool up here …

And the views over the golf course are breathtaking.

So there you have it ! Our beloved home on Spain’s sun kissed coast is now on the market …
