I was in town some months ago lending support to a friend who was in needed a new make up look. I was not looking for anything in particular and definitely not a new blush as I have so many. Nevertheless, I came home with In Love No. 55 pictured below. The Joues Contraste blushes called to me from across the floor as the colors were so beautiful and inviting.
In Love is a Coral Pink color with a tiny bit of gold shimmer. While there is shimmer included, it is not at all overly visible on the skin and just adds a bit more glow. This blush leaves a very radiant flush of pink color which is natural and not at all powdery. The effect of the blush is so natural looking, one gets the impression that the blush is resonating from inside the skin (easiest way to explain the effect). Joues Contraste provides sheer to medium coverage depending of how much is used. It is also a mistake proof blush, hence making it my blush of choice when I am on the run or indecisive as to color match. Due to the sheer effect, this blush is excellent for use over powder foundations!
I give Joues Contraset an A+ for staying power and its ability to remain fresh on the skin. As you can see above, the blush comes with it own brush which Chanel clams is made with natural hair. While it is soft on the skin, I found it to be useless (too small) and I use my own blush brush. As I only need to apply once a day due to the good lasting power, I do not carry this around.
Should you find yourself at a Chanel counter, I highly recommend giving these blushes a try. As stated above, the colors are gorgeous and versatile. I believe most women should be able to find a shade to match their skin types/color.
