The Citroen DS3 Revisited

Are you in the market for a small hatchback, but don’t find yourself impressed with the Mini? If so, be sure to check out the Citroen DS3. Citroen created this car to help it take on brands such as Hyundai and Kia and to take full advantage of the market for customisable and premium feel cars. The DS3 must take on a number of competitors to achieve these goals and the price is one thing that will help it do this.

When creating the DS3, Citroen made use of the underpinnings of their five-Door C3 Model. They improved on this design by stretching the wheelbase slightly and making minor adjustments to the suspension settings. This makes the three door version longer than it’s five door predecessor and the Mini, but shorter than the Alfa Romeo Mito. Inset LED strip lights set this car apart from others in the class along with a B-pillar which gives buyers a choice between a lid that disappears completely or one with a floating roof line. Three Trim Levels are offered with the ability to customize being one reason why many choose this make and model over competitors.

When you go to purchase a New Citroen DS3, you will be able to select graphics and colours for the roof along with door mirrors. Side strips are an option and a range of wheels are offered to meet the needs of various drivers. Even the key fobs come with different designs so you can choose the one you most prefer. Special edition models are being offered also. Most drivers choose to customize their car while making use of the 1.6-litre petrol engine which produces 154bhp as it goes from 0-62 in only 7.3 seconds.

Although the DS3 does pull a great deal from its C3 predecessor, one area where it differs significantly is in terms of the agility. The DSport is known for excellent body control and other trim levels aren’t lacking either. Steering is slightly lacking in terms of feel, but overall it is consistent, smooth and precise.

Overall, the DS3 offers strong performance and fun handling although the rear is cramped and tyre noise can be excessive at times. Overall, this car is very compelling and easier to live with than the Mini or Mito. This vehicle is priced right also which buyers greatly appreciate.
