CARDS: Farewell, Good Bye… Retiring Product spotlight on NC Stampin’ Up! Demo Blog Hop

Welcome to this months North Carolina Stampin’ Up! Demo Blog Tour!  Each month starting at 8 PM EST on the last Sunday of the month, we feature a new theme.  This month we are featuring Retiring Product, Mother’s Day or Feminine projects.  So, welcome to the April 2016 NC Stampin’ Up! Demo Blog Tour!

Apple of My Eye

Retiring Product Spotlight

I have two fun cards for you featuring the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set which is one of the Retiring Products that will be gone as of May 31, 2016!  This is a fun stamp set great for anyone that is a fruit lover!  Cards don’t have to be fancy or full of embellishments to be gorgeous… Both of these cards are relatively simple, easy to create and re-create along with featuring a clean design.

Apple of My Eye Stamp Set – Retiring Product

The first card features the pear shape from the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set.  The pear is stamped with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink and the stem is Chocolate Chip then the leaf is Old Olive.  I stamped the Thank You with the Chocolate Chip as well over the pear shape.  Along the edge, there is a strip of Subtle Designer Series Paper Stack in the Wild Wasabi to keep that as part of the main theme.  A card stock layer of Wild Wasabi sets off the card front from the Thick Whisper White card base.  Using Washi Tape with a button and linen thread are how I finished off the details of the card.  The Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape is another product retiring and this retiring product is ONLY available while supplies last!  Believe it or not, Silver Metallic Buttons are also going away…  Insert SAD face!  Thank goodness I’m not loosing the Linen Thread!

So, what do you think?  Cute, Clean and Simple card!  Fun to Make!

For the second card I am featuring the “citrus” shape which could easily be a lemon such as I stamped on this card, it could be a lime or an orange.  The Lemon is stamped with Daffodil Delight and the sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black.  Along the left edge, I’ve attached a piece of the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack in Daffodil Delight.  Following along with the design of the Pear Card, I then added the Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape along with a Brights Designer Button tied with the Black Baker’s Twine.

Again, a quick and simple card that is so much fun to create!  I may need to make a whole series of these cards featuring all the fruits that I can think of that can be stamped using the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set!

Again, thanks for joining the fun and I invite you to visit Frances Wagner by clicking on her name or the NC Demos Blog Button below!  You are going to love her blog and fun technique that she is sharing (FYI… I had the pleasure of learning about the technique when she did a Periscope).

I also invite you to pin my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment.  I love hearing from all my readers – word of mouth is one of the greatest forms of flattery.  Don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest!
