A New Gardening Year

Nothing says being conservative with your newly limited Gardening space like double planting garlic.  Last year I ordered fresh bulbs from Territorial Seed for this year’s planting.  Between the time they arrived and the day I planted they had made a run for the hills.  I dug the place apart and they were nowhere to be found.  Feeling rushed for time between out of town trips, I ended up planting some from last year’s harvest.

Around the first of the year I was looking for something in the closet and woudlnt you know I ran across the awol cloves from the previous Fall.  They small box they were in had fallen behind the shelf and were waiting to be found.  Not wanting to waste perfectly good garlic ready for planting I put some in the ground asap.  Now I have used twice the space I intended for garlic I’ll likely have to give away.  As amazing as it may sound, we can only eat so much garlic before it starts to sprout.  Sigh.
